These are nice soft brushes. No harsh chemical smell. I always wash all my stuff before I use it anyway. None of the brushes I got have any bristles coming out and I've washed the ones I used twice now. They don't absorb the product either which is nice. I'm surprised I haven't read any reviews on the blenders in this set. They are great blenders! They are very comparable to beautyblender brand. They expand with water to double their size, blend very nicely , are extremely soft, not porous, and don't eat up your product. I've had at least 30 brush sets in the last 25 yrs, these are very nice. Especially for this price! 

I was so impressed with the weight/balance in hand, the softness of the bristles, the copper and black color is elegant and the solidity of the brushes in their basses feels like quality. I cleaned them soon as I received them and I like the silicone cleaning tool and how firm the bristles are in the copper base. Such amazing value for the price! I haven't used the sponges yet but they look and feel just as high quality as the brushes they are paired with.
